This is an interesting and fulfilling arrangement of the theme from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. It begins simply with the famous tune, then gradually adds rhythms and doublings and fuller chordings and a few special techniques, flavored with crescendos and ritards; the ending arrives with changed chords and shakes, and the whole piece is just delightful to play.
This is a personal favorite at Handbell Services.
• Key of C major, 4/4 time signature, marked "allegro" 120 speed
• Quarter and 8th notes dominate; there are a few easily handled note changes. The piece sparkles with rhythmic energy.
• There is a short TD section and an easy ring-touch/mart section that is not hard to approach
• Essentially three sections of mf to ff ringing; a solid Level 2 performance piece.
