Learning To Ring Curriculum

The Learning To Ring Series is the most comprehensive instructional publication for handbell musicians.  Janet Van Valey and Susan Berry have created a timeless curriculum on the proper ways to ring handbells and handchimes.

The L-R is based on the premise that ringing skills should be taught in conjunction with good rhythmic skills, and provides any director or teacher with the insights and tools to develop these skills in new ringers.    

The L-R components consist of two instructional manuals, a book of rhythmic drills, 8 posters (opt.), and six collections of music arranged in sequential order.  

Based on the range of your bell or chime set, you will create your own curriculum by selecting:

A beginning choir will learn to ring correctly if the lessons are followed with careful planning and patient instruction.  This series is also recommended for a more advanced ensemble needing a refresher course in the basics, as well as weaving and multiple bells.
