This is a superb big Easter piece - a combination of two Easter hymn tunes with The Trumpet Shall Sound from Handel's Messiah, all arranged in an Easter celebration for up to 6 octaves of bells and 3-5 octaves of optional handchimes. The sound is big and solid throughout, involving everyone with a superb bass part added. Used at an Area V festival - and we were very impressed with the piece for massed performance - but a single choir could bring this off equally well.
Uses the hymn tunes Victory and Gelobt Sei Gott, along with the Trumpet Shall Sound.
• Key of F Major, 3/4 time signature, marked 92 speed
• Strong 8th note movement almost throughout, with dotted quarters and 8ths in many measures; there are accidentals, and six "work-it-out" measures that approach Level 3.
• There are no special techniques, just some shakes
• Dynamics are full choir, and mostly forte - the arrangement is dramatic, with a powerful, triumphant maestoso ending
