Arr by Linda Lamb . . . Sacred Hymn Tunes . . . 

This arrangement combines two familiar hymn tunes, and is a sprightly and upbeat piece that uses some doses of special techniques to add to the mood.  The two tunes are not combined -- All Things Bright comes first, played twice, with the melody in all different places (treble, mid-treble, bass), and with twinkly 8th notes over and around the tune -- followed by This Is My Father's World, played once in the same manner, followed by a short and 8th-note dotted coda into a mart-lift/plucked ending.  

The music is cheery and happy, and presents no performance problems beyond basic Level 2 -- it can be used in any service as a choir feature or in a concert, and would be an excellent piece for a youth choir.

• Keys of C and F Major, 4/4 time signature, marked "sprightly" 108-112 speed

• Quarter and 8th notes dominate; there are no accidentals

• Special techniques (all in small doses) include TDs and mart-lifts,

• Dynamics are all mezzo and forte -- the energy level never slows down
