Arr by Sharon Elery Rogers . . . Christmas Carols . . .
This is a straight-through arrangement of three Christmas Carols -- "How Great Our Joy", "Unto Us A Baby Is Born", and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing". It is a strong and emphatic Level One throughout, with accents and powerful chordal playing from start to finish in the style of a jubilee fanfare. The tempo is solidly medium, and the music ends with an accented, shaken-and-swung finale that is very appealing to an audience.
Everyone is involved from beginning to end, and even the high G-C in the third octave has a decent part.
• Key of C Major, 4/4 time signature, marked "with fanfare" 100-108 speed
• Quarter and half and whole notes throughout; there are no accidentals
• Special techniques include some echoes, some accents, and two final swings
• Dynamics are forte and mf, with a few dips to piano/crescendo
